Graziella Da Gioz

 

 

Graziella Da Gioz (Belluno in 1957) lives in Pieve del Grappa (Treviso).
She attends the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice following the courses of Emilio Vedova, that invites her to the exhibition "Vedova e il laboratorio", Museum of Modern Art in Strasbourg (1984).
The study of the landscape is mediated by the reading of poetic texts and prefers the techniques of pastel, oil painting and engraving. In 1986 she published her illustrations for the poems of Andrea Zanzotto in the magazine Noise, Ed. Maeght Gallery, Paris.
Among the main exhibitions: 1992 solo exhibition at Palazzo Sarcinelli, Conegliano, 1993/1997 "Venti pittori in Italia", "Pitture. The feeling and the form ", 1999 "Elogio of the pastel" Palazzo Sarcinelli, Conegliano, 2003 personal exhibition at the Living Gallery, Rome, 2009/2010 "Painting of Italy. Real landscapes and the soul", Castel Sismondo, Rimini, 2010-2013 personal exhibition at Galata Museo del Mare, Genova, and at Villa Ancilotto in Crocetta del Montello.
In 2005 in Sonthofen (Germany) she receives one of the three prizes for invited European artists.
In 2006 she releases the artist's book "Dal paesaggio", published by the Stamperia d'Arte Albicocco, Udine, with poems by Andrea Zanzotto along with nine of her engravings and in 2011 "Le stagioni sulla Marteniga" by Tina Merlin, with an engraving and fifty pastels, Edizioni Colophon, Belluno, a book also exhibited in Venice, Ca' Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art and Cini Foundation.
In 2011 she is invited to the 54th International Art Biennial of Venice, Villa Contarini, Piazzola sul Brenta (Padova). In 2014 she participates in the exhibition "Around Vermeer. The faces, the light, the things ", curated by Marco Goldin, Palazzo Fava, Bologna.
In 2015 she exhibited a cycle of works dedicated to the Po delta and the lagoon in the Regional Museum of the Ca' Vendramin and Ca' Cornera situaded in the Po delta park. She presents a series of pastels and oils on the theme of the tree (2015) and water ("Dolomiti d'acqua" 2016), in Belluno, Palazzo Crepadona
In 2016-17 she participates in the "Ode alla pittura" exhibition, with a selection of works from the Palazzo Sarcinelli collection in Conegliano, curated by Marco Goldin.
She dedicates some engravings to the poetry "La mia sera" by Giovanni Pascoli for an artist's book exhibited in the Library of the University of Bologna and in the solo exhibition "Between the snow and the shadow", L’Occhio Art Gallery, Venice.
In 2018/2020 she exhibited a series of works dedicated to Tina Merlin and Vajont in Venice, Casa della Memoria, Iveser, Villa Hériot and in Longarone (BL), Palazzo Mazzolà. She recently started a series of engravings ancd pastels on the theme of fallen trees.
In 2022 one of her engravings was included in the artist's book "In silent surfacing" with poems by Luciano Cecchinel and she was invited to the third Biennial "Giuseppe Maestri", Museo Civico delle Cappuccine, Bagnacavallo (Ravenna).
In 2023 one of her engravings was included in the folder "Amalgama Gráfica Internacional Contemporánea VII Féminas" Oviedo (Spain) with female artists from all over the world.
 
His engravings and artist's books have participated in national and international exhibitions in Europe, Brazil, the United States, Chile, China, Argentina and Japan
