Founded in 1969, the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica di Venezia is an international institution located in the heart of historic Venice. Throughout the years, the Scuola has welcomed artists and students from all over the world and has established affiliations and engaged in collaborative projects with international universities, museums, guilds, biennales.
The Scuola is one of the exhibition venues of the 'Premio Leonardo Sciascia amateur d'estampes', promoted by the Associazione Amici di Leonardo Sciascia. Other partners are the Fondazione il Bisonte per lo studio dell'arte grafica of Florence, the Museo della Carta e della Filigrana of Fabriano, the Fondazione Federica Galli of Milan, the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica of Rome,
the Museo Riso of Palermo, and the Collezione Achille Bertarelli of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan.
The international affiliated associations are Boston Printmakers (USA), Los Angeles Printmaking Society (USA) and Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (UK).
In addition to its teaching activities in the fields ofprintmaking, artists' books and graphic design, the Scuola has for several years offered a program of artist residencies, which has welcomed artists from all over the world.
