Elisabetta Diamanti was born, lives and works in Rome. Her engraving artistic training began at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome where he graduated in 1981 with prof. Guido Strazza, and at the National Institute for Graphics with prof. Jean-Pierre Velly.
Since 1993 she recurrently participated to personal and collective exhibition, and regularly joined the most important national and international exhibitions of engraving in Poland, Spain, Finland, Norway, U.S.A., Korea, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Bulgaria, Serbia, Germany, Luxembourg, Hungary, Argentina, Ireland.
Already starting from 1995 has extended her research towards the creation of artist's books in limited editions, with the use of handmade papers, collaborating with the most prestigious publishing houses such as: "Il Bulino", Rome with the folder of engravings: Il mezzo della memoria, and the artist's book: Il fiore delle distanze; "Il Salice", Locarno with the folder of engravings: Strutture Vegetali and the artist's book: Orphée; "I quaderni di Orfeo", Lecco with the artist's book: Apparizione; “Joseph Weiss”, Mendrisio with the artist's book: Mater; "TranSignum", Paris with the artist's books: Les Lettres de fumée and La Carne Amata; "Agave edizioni", Rome with the artist's book: Isolasola; "Pulcinoelefante", Osnago with the artist's book: Ancora illeso; "Il Girasole", Catania with the artist's book: n°7; "InSigna", Rome with the artist's books; Bouleversements, Animus and Il giorno; "Il Ragazzo innocuo", Milan with the artist's book: Genesis.
Between 1997 to 2013 she took part, by invitation, to several stays for artists in the context of chalcographic experimentation at the "Cité Internationale des Arts", Paris, France; at the "Atelier de Gravure Empreinte", Luxembourg; at the Symposium Miszala Art, Miszala, Hungary; at the Frans Masereel Centrum Voor Grafik, Kasterlee, Belgium.
Since 1996 she teaches Engraving and Printing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Viterbo, and Engraving and Art Graphics at the School of Ornamental Arts of the Municipality of Rome. In the years 2011 and 2012 she collaborated as an assistant teacher on the course: Primo segnare curated by Guido Strazza at the Accademia of Saint Luca in Rome. From 1998 to 2012 she was invited to hold chalcographic engraving seminars at the universities of Granada and Bilbao, Spain; Nantes, France; Olsztynie, Poland. She held workshops on the same subjects at the research laboratories of Casa Falconieri, Serdiana, province of Cagliari, and at the Papirmuseet Silkeborg, Denmark. In 2017 she taught at the teaching spaces of the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome with the didactic laboratory Ex libris and Punta Secca su plexiglass.
In 2005 she was the winner of the Rome "VII International Maxentius Art Award for Graphics" with the engraving: Abdomen 4. In 2011 she won the "X Acqui Terme Award" with the work: Appearance. In 2012 she won the "Bonanno Award for Engraving" with the engraving: Banano I. In 2017 she received a mention for the engraving: Philodendron-Soffioni at the "XIV Mazzolari Prize" of the city of Bozzolo, Mantua. In 2019 the artist was awarded the third prize at the 9th edition of the "Leonardo Sciascia Amateur d’estampes Award" with the engraving: Animus Re-signum.
Elisabetta Diamanti is included among the contemporary engravers in the text by Tiziana D’Acchille "1990/2010 Vent’anni di Arte a Roma", Bora publisher, Bologna, 2011; her name is also included in volumes I-VI (1993-2013) of the periodical "Repertorio degli incisori italiani", published by the Cabinet of Ancient and Modern Prints, Bagnacavallo, Ravenna. She is also mentioned in the volume by M. R. Boni, A. M. Di Stefano and V. Portuguese "Roma Contemporanea. Repertorio delle mostre di arte contemporanea 1996-1998", Bonsignori publisher, Rome, 1999. The artist is a member of the National Association of Contemporary Engravers.
Her artwork can be found in many public and private collections in Italy and abroad.
