Born in Riva del Garda (Trento) in 1949, Mario Alimede is a painter, graphic artist and engraver.
From 1968 and in the following years, he attended experimental and contemporary graphic design courses in Venice, at the International Visual Arts and Graphic Design School, with Nicola Sene and Riccardo Licata.
As an illustrator and freelance graphic designer, in 1998 he joined the M.A.R.T., group of artists, exploring new artistic frontiers through digital art, a pioneering initiative in the Friulian territory at that time.
He has directed (and still holds) courses in artistic drawing, free expression and engraving, and as a curator, he has promoted creative awareness-raising projects within psychiatric rehabilitation centres. He has also organized collective exhibitions with the participation of artists from Friuli.
He published his collections of poems and engravings “Diciassette passi” in 2007 and “La montagna parallela” in 2011.
He is a member of GISM (the Academy of Alpine Art and Culture). His first individual exhibition was in 1971. Since then, he has been exhibiting in several individual and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad. His works can be found in public collections and private venues.
